London Body Centre and Tales of Inkspiration are the leading scalp micropigmentation company that offers the most natural solution for balding, thinning areas, surgical scars, and alopecia.
Scalp Micropigmentation has quickly become one of the most effective answers to hair loss and thinning hair.
Scalp Micropigmentation is a non-invasive treatment that uses detailed micro-needles to deposit pigment into the scalp. The outcome creates the appearance of tiny hair follicles that help thicken and restore the look of fuller hair.
The Scalp Micropigmentation treatment can restore receded hairlines, thicken remaining hair, camouflage transplant scarring, and create the look of close-cropped hair.
Scalp Micropigmentation is also effective for those suffering from minor hair thinning or recession.
By precisely repeating your own natural hair follicles and hair color, scalp micropigmentation can help strengthen and add density to thinning areas, creating an unnoticeable illusion of thicker, stronger hair.
One of the greatest things about the innovative scalp micropigmentation treatment is that it requires little to no continued maintenance and carries no strict lifestyle or daily restrictions. Our clients call it “freedom”.

Facts You Need to Know
Because every client is different, every area of the scalp is dissimilar, and every point of insertion is different from the prior and subsequent points, we are highly trained to make technical and artistic judgments as the process advances, millimetre by millimetre. Scars retain pigment very differently than the skin of an atrophic or normal scalp. It is not unusual to have both normal and abnormal scalp conditions proximate to each other in the same patient. The artistic judgments in handling this often extend into the normal scalp since a scar that is white will have to blend into the tan or dark skin that surrounds the scar.
The dotting will vary in dot size based upon artistic judgments needed once the process starts. If the pigment is placed only in the epidermis, the procedure will fail because the pigment will leak out within a few days after the process is done. If the pigment is placed too deep into the dermis, it will fail as it diffuses outside the limitations of its original area of placement.
Will you see results after the first session?
The percentage of ink that washes away on the patient’s first hair wash (2-3 days) reflects the pigment on the surface of the scalp or from the needle track within the stratum corneum and stratum granulosum. With the normal stratum corneum turnover of ~27 days, it is likely that the pigment remains below the stratum corneum in the lower layers of the epidermis for a few months. How much of the pigment remains in the stratum basale and how long it stays there probably differs in different people, particularly those with skin diseases that impact skin cycling. Ultimately, all of the epidermis becomes free of pigments.
The best part of the SMP procedure is that you can really have whatever desired outcome you desire.
Anything you want can be achieved, and during your consultation, we will go over how dense you want you hair, the darkness and overall look you are striving for. Our specialists will be very honest and upfront with you if your desires fit into what is achievable or not.
How Long does it take?
Generally speaking, SMP treatments can be completed in 6-10 hours split over 3-4 separate sessions. The actual time required can vary considerably depending on the style you require, the extent of your balding and the size of your head, as well as other factors such as your rate of pigment fade.
After each session the patient is required to keep their head dry and refrain from washing or shaving it for a period of around five days. After a week or so, another session can be applied if required. Between each session, the pigments from the previous session settle and the skin heals, and so the dots become softer, lighter and less distinct, and any redness or bruising subsides.
How does the fading influence the treatment?
When each dot is applied, it makes a tiny wound in the skin that scabs over in order to heal itself, with the pigment deposit held underneath. As the scabs fall away, they take with them a portion of the pigment. In addition to this, the pigments are confronted by the immune system and subsequently shrink.
These two factors result in a shrinking and lightening of the dots, most noticeable during the first few weeks after a treatment session. This gradual fading differs from person to person, so it is therefore necessary to apply an SMP treatment over a number of sessions so that the required pigment shade, dot size and density can be correctly adjudicated.
For these reasons, your personal rate and extent of fading doesn’t really influence the final result, but it can impact on the number of sessions you require to complete your transformation.

Scalp Micropigmentation FAQ
The human head has an astounding 2000 follicles per square inch. Not shocking then that it typically takes a minimum of three sittings to realise the final anticipated look on a mainly bald head. As part of our meticulous, results-focused method, we apply a lighter pigment during treatment number 1. Session 2 sees us adjust to obtain a flawless match (sometimes using even 3-4 pigment shades to get the perfect result) whilst adding density and the crucial blend into natural hairline. In subsequent sessions we focus on completing the appearance and adding detail.
For repetitive treatments, we offer 3 sessions as a typicalbundle and this is the number of sessions included in your quote.
The first session will last 2 to 5 hours be conditional on the extent of your hair loss and thickness you want.
The second sitting will take place 7 to 10 days after your first session and will also last around 2 to 5 hours. This is where we take your feedback and add more density to your look. We can also make additionalvariations at this point if essential. The consultant will converse this with you.
The third sitting will be around 4 weeks after the second session. This gives your scalp time to recuperate and for the treatment to settle. Short breaks can be taken through the treatment session and your consultant will ask if you require breaks during your treatment, otherwise if you need a break just let the consultant know. Final touch ups will be done at this sitting.
Our clients tell us that even close up in the mirror, they themselves can’t differentiate where their real hairline ends and the pigmentation blending initiates.
The procedure is not very painful at all, there is more of an annoyance and some tenderness. On a scale of 1-10 it is around 4.
