How does it work?

With semi-permanent make-up you eliminate the chore of having to apply, reapply and remove make-up every day and it will always look professionally applied. Imagine the possibilities; wake up looking good, step out of the shower, the pool or gym confident that your eyebrows, eyeliner and lip line are perfectly in place.

You will have a in depth consultation. Here will be paperwork to be filled out. This will also include answering any questions and checking your medical history as well as talking through all the pre and post care.

Before the Lip Blushing treatment

At London Body we shall have a consultation prior to proceeding with this treatment. We make sure that we have a clear understanding of the clients wishes and manage all expectations.

During the Lip Blushing treatment

Semi-permanent make-up is a revolutionary method of applying micro-insertions of the natural pigments into the dermal layer of the skin. This state-of-the-art technique is medically proven and specifically designed to be completely safe. Intra-dermal pigmentation is used for a variety of permanent cosmetic enhancements such as permanent eyebrows, eyeliner, lip liner, full lip and for alopecia patients. Tenderness, dryness and itching, swelling, redness and flaking are all normal defensive reactions of the body.

Following your appointment, it is likely that your makeup will look bold, dark, and prominent – perhaps not quite as you expected them to be. In most cases, the skin under the pigment will be slightly red, causing the area to look darker.

Within the first 7-14 days, the pigment will fade by as much as 30-60 per cent, depending on an individual’s dermis, skin condition, age and UV exposure.

During exfoliation, treated area start to itch and their texture will be much thicker. It is important not to remove any of the scabs or scratch the treated area. Usually, the skin starts to scab from the outside edges.

As swelling and redness subsides, towards the end of the flaking process, the darkness and thickness of the eyebrows will reduce. This will result in a softer, natural look.

Full colour deposition will be achieved in around four to eight weeks. This is the ideal time to schedule your touch-up appointment, to saturate more pigment and make any minor adjustments.

After eyes procedure eyelids appear red and puffy, this usually comes down on the same day, although it may take longer on some clients to heal and symptoms may appear more prominent.

What results can I expect to see and how many do I need?

Do you need touch-ups? Depending on the treatment and lifestyle factors, lip tattooing can last anywhere from 1-3 years. The pigment will fade naturally and lighten over this time. We do however recommend a colour boost procedure every 6-12 months.

Can I wear lipstick after lip tattoo?

You may wear lipstick, lip-gloss, and chapstick after 10 days, make sure the tube of lip product is new. No smoking while lips are healing (10 days minimum). No kissing, rubbing or friction on your newly tattooed lips until after 10 days or you may lose pigment.

A lip tattoo can be trickier and more painful than tattoos on other parts of your body. But when done by a reputable artist and allowed to heal properly, a lip tattoo can be an effective artistic expression.

Do lip tattoos scab?

If your lips are kept clean and moisturised then only a thin film (not a scab) will appear. Lip tattoos are not as deep as a ‘normal’ tattoo – your new healing skin is covering the pigment and when your skin and the pigment start to settle (between weeks 2-4), you’ll notice that your lip tattoo starts coming back.
