Botox Treatment
Discover Timeless Beauty with Botox Treatment
Botulinum toxin is used to reduce fine lines and wrinkles by paralyzing the underlying muscles. People also use Botox to treat excessive sweating, migraines, and muscular disorders. Botox is actually the trade name for a substance injected into the skin which is known to inhibit muscle movement, and that can prevent wrinkles from developing or worsening. The name ‘Botox’ actually comes from the word ‘botulous’ – which means sausage.
Botox injections are now one of the most popular cosmetic treatments in the world and there is a plethora of celebs who are rumoured as swearing by youth-keeping injections. While it is immensely popular for aesthetic purposes, Botox is actually pretty handy for other conditions too, including stopping excessive sweat.
What we offer at London Body Centre
Botox is the most popular non-surgical cosmetic treatment – with over a whopping six million Botox treatments administered every year worldwide. Botox is a neurotoxin derived from Clostridium botulinum – an organism found in the natural environment where it is pretty much inactive and non-toxic. When administered by our highly trained medical professionals, it safely and effectively smooths out signs of aging for a refreshed, youthful look.

How does it work?
Botox works by blocking the chemical signals from nerves that cause muscles to contract. When injected into specific facial muscles, it temporarily relaxes them. Because the targeted muscles can no longer contract forcefully, the skin overlying them is allowed to flatten and smooth out, drastically reducing the appearance of dynamic wrinkles (the wrinkles formed by facial expressions).
Before the Botox treatment
During your initial consultation, we will assess your medical history and aesthetic goals to ensure Botox is the right choice for you. To minimize the risk of bruising, we recommend avoiding alcohol, anti-inflammatory medications (like Ibuprofen and Aspirin), and supplements such as Vitamin E and fish oil for at least 24 to 48 hours prior to your appointment.
During the Botox treatment
The treatment is incredibly quick and straightforward. Your practitioner will cleanse the targeted area and may use a topical numbing cream if requested, though the procedure is highly tolerable. Using a very fine needle, small amounts of Botox are injected into the specific muscles. The entire process usually takes just 15 to 30 minutes.
How many treatments are needed?
A single treatment will provide noticeable results that typically last between 3 to 6 months. As muscle action gradually returns, lines and wrinkles begin to reappear. To maintain your smooth, youthful appearance, we recommend scheduling maintenance treatments 2 to 3 times a year.

Frequently Asked Questions About Botox
Discover comprehensive answers to frequently asked questions about aesthetic treatments at London Body Centre. Our FAQ section provides valuable insights into Botox, fillers, laser procedures, and more, empowering you to make informed choices for your beauty journey.
Is Botox popular?
Yes, Botox is exceptionally popular. It is consistently ranked as the number one non-surgical cosmetic procedure in the world, with millions of people safely receiving treatments every year to maintain a youthful appearance.
What are the risks and side-effects?
Side effects are generally mild and temporary. The most common include slight bruising, swelling, or redness at the injection site. Rarely, patients may experience a mild headache or a temporary drooping of the eyelid or eyebrow, which resolves on its own. All potential risks will be discussed during your consultation.
How safe is Botox?
Botox is highly safe. It has been extensively researched, FDA-approved for cosmetic use for decades, and has a long, proven track record. The key to safety is ensuring your treatment is performed by a qualified, experienced medical practitioner.
Will it leave me looking stiff?
Not at all! When administered by an expert, Botox should look completely natural. The goal is to relax the specific muscles causing the wrinkles, not to freeze your entire face. You will still be able to smile, frown, and look expressive—just with fewer lines.
Does it treat my skin or my muscles?
Botox treats the underlying muscles. By relaxing the muscle underneath, the skin on the surface is no longer being creased and folded, allowing it to smooth out naturally.
What are the uses of Botox?
Aesthetically, it is used to treat frown lines, crow’s feet, forehead creases, bunny lines on the nose, and neck bands. Medically, it is highly effective in treating hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), chronic migraines, TMJ (jaw clenching), and muscle spasms.
Does it fit into my busy schedule?
Absolutely. Botox is often referred to as a “lunchtime procedure.” The injections take only about 15-20 minutes, and there is zero downtime. You can immediately return to work and your normal daily activities, though we advise avoiding strenuous exercise for 24 hours.
Is Botox still being improved?
Yes, the field of medical aesthetics is always advancing. While the core formulation of Botox is tried and true, injection techniques, micro-dosing (like “Baby Botox”), and our understanding of facial anatomy are constantly evolving to provide even safer, more natural, and longer-lasting results.
